Great Time at Jax Pop Con

The Jacksonville Main Library had their first Jax Pop Con last weekend and Midnight Pumpkin was one of the vendors. Our next event will be the Comic Fest on May 4th, 2024 at the Beaches Branch Library.

I decided to go with a Mad Hatter theme, because my main items are sparkly things that go on your head. I also brought rings and earrings. My friend Emily from The6Parkers went as the White Rabbit/Booth Helper.

The event went really well! There was a bit of a scramble to find costume contest judges due to a last-minute cancellation, but we managed to fill the spot.

I actually MC’d the contest, which is a big step for me as I have always been nervous about public speaking. I’m not sure how good I did, but I managed to at least announce every character as they walked by.

We did so well at the table that I need to restock before the beaches event. And my son had fun playing Roblox on the library computers all day.

He wore a really cool comic book themed shirt for all of 10 minutes before he deemed it too hot and took it off. He managed to take a selfie of himself so I could have a pic of it.

Overall, it was a good day and I hope this becomes an annual event!
