If you are looking for a unique cosplay to wear to your next renaissance fair, why not combine your favorite superhero with a pretty medieval dress in their colors?

Making a Medieval Wonder Woman Cosplay
I found the perfect red and blue dress on Amazon for just $17.99! The dress comes in lots of colors and styles and fits well enough to wear on its own as well. It has ties in the back to customize the fit, so there is a nice range in sizing.
I’m ready to order more in different colors just to have them ready for any kind of medieval cosplay!

I cut off the original trim and added my own ribbons by hot glueing them on. I also added a braided gold rope around my wait, representing Wonder Woman’s gold lasso.
I also tried to recreate something resembling the iconic winged design usually found on Wonder Woman’s top.

I did the design on a thin sheet of styrene, painted it gold, and then glued it to the dress. If you choose to do something like that, use E-6000 or anything besides hot glue or it will eventually peel right off. Or DO use hot glue if you want it to be easily removable.

I used some old Wonder Woman accessories I already had for the tiara and bracers, and just repainted them to make the gold look older.

Is There a Medieval Wonder Woman in Comics?
I completely made up this costume based on Wonder Woman’s elements and colors, but I did go searching to see if I could find a possible alternate timeline Wonder Woman.
I found a lot of fan really great fan-created medieval Wonder Women cosplays, but nothing in the comics. The closest thing was the Elseworld’s steampunk Wonder Woman.
I recommend not asking AI this question, as the WordPress AI helper told me this:
“One notable example of this reimagining is the graphic novel “Wonder Woman: The Blue Amazon” by Lee Ferguson. In this medieval incarnation, Wonder Woman is portrayed as a valiant knight defending the kingdom of Camelot in the midst of the Middle Ages.”
I thought that sounded pretty cool until I fact-checked it and found out there is a comic called The Blue Amazon, but it definitely isn’t set in medieval times, and I couldn’t find any reference to a Lee Ferguson. So, AI totally gave me a completely made-up answer!
Always, always, always fact check.
