This Halloween I went as Bride of Frankenstein and as Frankenstein’s Momster. (A little mom, a little monster) Here’s all the details about my Frankenstein inspired makeup, wig, costumes and accessories.

Frankenstein Makeup:
I did my own thing with the makeup, so it was only part of my face being green. The green color I went with is the one in the second row of the UCANBE Face Body Paint pallet shown below.

I’ve gotten so much use out of this little pallet! The colors are highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. It gives great coverage and lasts all night. It also does well on my skin and doesn’t look streaked or cracky.

I used the teal-ish green as the base color and then did a little contouring with the darker green. You can see where I added that on my cheekbones and sides of nose in the video.
For the stitches I used black first and drew the main line and stitch lines, then I went over it with Blue Squid Metallic Silver.

Bride of Frankenstein Wig and Dress
Again, I went in my own direction here with a white dress and corset. I wrapped my arms up in real bandages.
The wig isn’t really for Bride of Frankenstein, but I liked the style better than most of the ones I found. It’s listed as a “beehive” wig. I used white acrylic paint to do the stripes up the sides. Click here for a tutorial on making the Bride of Frankenstein wig.

Frankenstein Neck Bolts
I used a free file from Thingiverse to print the neck bolts using a rainbow metallic filament. They came out a pinkish/purple and I decided to leave them that way instead of painting them the typical silver color.
The neck bolts print really well and print in three pieces- 2 bolts and the piece that goes around your neck, which you screw the bolts into.
You can find the neck bolts here: Frankenstein Monster Bolts Head/neck -band by Nys1 – Thingiverse
The original print was a bit large on my neck, so I cut the back and overlapped the piece to make it smaller so it would fit tight enough not to budge all night.
Getting Creative
I did several different versions of this character, each with its own unique twist. There are so many different ways you could go with it to make it unique and personal!
