How to Apply Face Jewels

You can make applying face jewels way easier by using a rhinestone picker tool. This tool, often used to bedazzle outfits or do detailed nail art, works way better than tweezers and fingers when trying to apply small rhinestones to your face.

I kept seeing it used by makeup artists on Instagram and had to go find out what it was! Their application went on so easily, while I ended up with a floor full of rhinestones as they kept flying out of the tweezers.

The tool set above is available on Amazon for under $10: Click here to see it on Amazon.

The tool has a waxy end that you use to pick up the rhinestones and transfer them, and a metal pointy end that can be used to sort through stones or as a dotting tool.

The easiest adhesive to use is eyelash glue, but you can also use spirit gum.

I created the freckled fairy look below using the rhinestone tool.

The set comes with extra wax heads, but I haven’t had to switch to a new one yet and have had the tool for a while.

Sparkle and Shine: A Detailed Guide to Applying Face Jewels

Face jewels are a fun and creative way to add a touch of glamour to any look. Whether you’re preparing for a festival, cosplay, a night out, or simply want to experiment with a new trend, face jewels can elevate your makeup game.

Here’s a guide to help you apply face jewels like a pro.

Choosing Your Face Jewels

Before you start, choose the type and design of face jewels that suit your occasion and style. Face jewels come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, from simple rhinestones to intricate designs. You can buy pre-arranged face jewel sets or create your own unique patterns using individual gems.

Preparing Your Skin

For the best results, start with a clean and moisturized face. This helps the adhesive stick better and ensures that the jewels stay in place.

If you need to apply the jewels over makeup, avoid using heavy powders as the jewels will not stick as well.

Applying the Jewels

  1. Layout and Design: Before sticking the jewels onto your face, plan out your design. You can do this by placing the jewels on a flat surface in the pattern you want to create. This step helps you visualize the final look and make adjustments before committing to the adhesive.
  2. Adhesive Options: Some face jewels come with a self-adhesive backing, making them easy to apply. However, if your jewels don’t have adhesive or if you want extra security, use a skin-safe glue like eyelash adhesive.
Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the jewel and wait a few seconds until it becomes tacky before placing it on your skin.
  3. Application: Using the rhinestone picker tool, carefully place each jewel onto your skin. Start with the central jewel if you’re creating a symmetrical design, then work outwards. Press gently to ensure each jewel sticks properly.
  4. Adjustments: Once all the jewels are in place, check the symmetry and alignment. You can make minor adjustments by gently shifting the jewels before the adhesive fully sets.

Securing the Jewels

To make sure your face jewels stay put throughout the day or night, avoid touching or rubbing the area. If you have oily skin or if you’re worried about the jewels falling off, consider using a setting spray over your makeup and jewels to lock everything in place.

Removing Face Jewels

Removing face jewels is easy and painless. Gently peel them off your skin, starting from the edges. If you’re using glue, you might need a bit of makeup remover or coconut oil to dissolve the adhesive. Clean the jewels with a damp cloth and store them for future use if they’re reusable.

Creative Ideas

  • Festival Glam: Combine face jewels with glitter and bold eye makeup for a show-stopping festival look.
  • Subtle Elegance: Use smaller, clear jewels for a delicate and elegant touch to your evening makeup.
  • Themed Designs: Match your face jewels to the theme of your outfit or event, such as star-shaped jewels for a celestial look or floral designs for a boho vibe.

Face jewels are a versatile and eye-catching addition to your beauty routine. With a bit of creativity and careful application, you can transform your look and add a touch of sparkle to any occasion.
